Necedah Food Pantry

The Necedah Food Pantry is  non-profit food pantry serving the residents in the Necedah School District and Northern Juneau County.  Through the support and generosity of the local community members, churches, schools, businesses and organizations, we have been in operation for over 20 years.

What We Do

The Necedah Food Pantry welcomes food and monetary donations.  In addition, community food drives have been successful in supporting the needs of the pantry.  Necedah has been a generous community supporting families in need.

Where:  Donations accepted at Necedah Town Hall, Necedah Library, Necedah Bank, Bank of Mauston (Necedah Branch), Necedah Schools, Local Churches

February - Annual Necedah Change War

The Little Crane Cafe sponsors the NECEDAH CHANGE WAR in February to benefit the Necedah Food Pantry.  The community wide challenge goes out to all businesses and organizations with the challenge to raise funds and take the trophy from last year’s winner. “Teams” can email Andrea Parrish at littlecranecafe@tds.net to get added to the contact list.  Join in the fun and help raise more than last year’s total!

Local Food Drives

Necedah businesses, organizations, and school groups raise funds and food to benefit the Necedah Food Pantry at various times throughout the year.  Their support and generosity is appreciated!

April - Annual Personal Hygiene Drive

The Necedah Food Pantry sponsors the Personal Hygiene Drive in April.  Contributions are welcome and appreciated.

What to Bring to Each Monthly Visit

  • A photo ID and pieces of current (within a month) mail with the first and last name of each adult member in the household.  Examples included a rent receipt, utility bill, medical bill, etc.  The mail must have a street address, not a post office box number.

  • Provide proof of each child in the household.  For children, proof can be be a doctor bill, report card, or other documentation.  (Children must live with you at least half the time.)

  • Knowledge of total household income for all adults.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often can I come?

You can come one time per calendar month.  You will be asked to come in the same week each month.

Can someone pick up my food for me?

Yes, you can add a name(s) to your chart to pick up your food for you.  Let us know at your next visit or call us ahead of time.

What kind of food will I get?

You will receive government commodities along with canned good, frozen meat, fresh produce, and baked goods.  The items on hand vary weekly.

How long can I expect to wait?

The wait time varies depending on the number of families requesting food.  Each household receives a number as you enter the building.
